King's College London researchers and Guy's and St Thomas' clinicians have produced the first clinical grade human embryonic stem cell lines that are free from animal products and intended for publicly-funded research. Amanda Buttery, one of the BRC Allied Health Professions Training Fellows, recently presented her PhD findings at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2011 in Paris. Amanda was one of the three finalists in the ESC's Nursing and Allied Health Investigator Award and presented her work at a dedicated awards session at the Congress.
